PublicPresentation of the Annual Neponset River Water Quality Report – Thurs., Feb. 6– Canton Public Library

 

Learnhow clean the water in your town really is! The Neponset River WatershedAssociation science staff will present water quality results from the 2019 CitizenWater Monitoring Network’s (CWMN) sampling season on Thursday, February 6 at 7pm in the Canton Public Library Community Room, 786 Washington Street, Canton.

 

Thisyear, 52 CWMN volunteers collected 480 water samples at 41 locations throughoutthe Neponset Watershed, from May through October.

 

Sampleswere collected from Canton, Dedham, Dorchester, Hyde Park, Foxborough,Mattapan, Medfield, Milton, Norwood, Sharon, Stoughton, Walpole, and Westwood.

 

Followingthe report will be a presentation on per- and polyfluoroalkyl PFAS, PFOS, andPFOA by MA State Representative, Kate Hogan, and MWRA Director of LaboratoryServices, Steve Rhode.

 

PFASand PFOA are chemicals used in many everyday products. Science is uncoveringsignificant health concerns, and showing that these chemicals are everywhere,including in YOUR body.
