Starting the week of August 7, the Dedham-Westwood Water District’s contractor, RFS Corp., will replace the existing water main on a portion of Washington Street (from Brookfield Road to Marshall Street) and the entire length of Brookfield Road and Beacon Street in Westwood.
Work includes installing:
A temporary water bypass will provide Brookfield Road and Beacon Street residents with water while work is being conducted.
The project is slated to take approximately three to four months.
Traffic delays may occur near the project while construction is underway. Police will be on-site during work hours to assist pedestrians and drivers.
At times, residents will temporarily have their water service disrupted. The District will notify affected residents 24 hours before any planned water interruptions. Any other sudden unforeseen water disruptions would be an emergency, and the district will knock on all affected residents’ doors.
The contractor will continue with water main work on Washington Street.
Businesses on Washington Street within the project limits will be notified of a one-day scheduled water interruption. The contractor will connect service lines on Washington Street to the new water main.
Work will be conducted Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
