Burgess Avenue Water Booster Pump Station Replacement

Project Overview

Starting the first week of November, the Dedham-Westwood Water District’s contractor, Aqua Line Utility, will begin site work to replace the existing underground Burgess Avenue Booster Pump Station with a new, above-ground station to be located on an easement at 1446 High Street. The new station will be approximately 350 feet North East from its current location across High Street.

Project Facts

  • The current station is underground (requiring confined space entry), antiquated, and has served past its useful life.

  • A new station will improve fire protection for 200+ residents, provide a backup power supply, and enhance worker/contractor safety by eliminating confined-space entry.

  • In 2025, the District received project approval from the Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning, Conservation, and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to move forward.

Project Update as of October 2026

Starting in November, small machinery will be used to clear and grub the site. Once clearing and grubbing are complete, excavation will occur for the building foundation, and concrete will be poured.

While work is being conducted, you may notice increased activity near your property and intermittent noises.
